How do you find out if a hydro scheme will be feasible and economically viable, and where do you start?

Many individuals and community groups find it a struggle to get a project off the ground, particularly when it comes to planning issues and license applications etc, and local authorities under pressure to meet their renewable energy targets are finding they need to increase their knowledge. The British Hydropower Association is therefore holding a series or regional seminars around the Country to provide information, guidance and inspiration to all potential stakeholders including landowners, potential developers, community groups, local authorities in fact, anyone who wants to know more about micro-hydro schemes.

This one-day seminar includes a guide on getting started, real-life local case-studies, buffet lunch followed by a site visit, and feature talks from regional environment agencies, local authorities, developers and scheme owners. It also provide a superb opportunity to meet like-minded people with whom to share experiences. The BHA is a not-for-profit organisation but we do need to recover costs relating to our events. There will therefore be a nominal charge of 50 (inclusive of VAT) per delegate at this event.

The event will start at 9.30am for registration and coffee and the site visit will commence at approx 2.30pm. Finish times are down to each individual; some may just take a quick look and then go, others may have lots of questions and stay longer. A lot depends on the weather!

We look forward to seeing you there.
